Happening now... 32 thousand tons of diesel are unloaded at Al-Zeit Port to operate Aden’s power stations

A source at the Electricity Corporation told Scoop24 News that the diesel ship belonging to the merchant Al-Awadi recently entered the oil port in the capital, Aden, and began unloading its cargo, capacity of 32 thousand tons of diesel fuel, into the tanks of the oil company.
This came after the government paid the value of diesel $16 million, after two weeks of negotiation, but the merchant refused to unload the ship’s cargo until after receiving its value.
The source explained that the quantity will occupy power generation stations for about 20 to 30 days.
Over the past few days, Aden has experienced a severe deterioration in electricity service due to the running out of fuel, in light of non-existent, slow, and unclear solutions being implemented by the concerned authorities in the Yemeni government to address the thorny electricity issue.
