Prime Minister: What was spent on electricity last year was enough to establish strategic electricity stations

Prime Minister Dr. said. Ahmed Awad bin Mubarak said that the government spent huge sums of money last year that were sufficient to establish strategic power stations that would spare the government the need to use rented stations.
Bin Mubarak said in an interview with the government Yemen Channel that the state spends $2 million daily on power stations in Aden Governorate alone.
He pointed out that the tender committee for electricity fuel used to buy one ton of fuel for $1,200 by direct order, and currently it is purchased for less than $700 through tenders.
Bin Mubarak did not indicate whether those responsible for these corruption operations and deals were held accountable.
Bin Mubarak said that the government power stations have not undergone any maintenance.
Bin Mubarak said that 31% of state revenues now go to the electricity sector.
