Al-Hota Court of First Instance begins trial sessions for those accused of killing Sheikh Mohsen Al-Rashidi and his companions

Today, Thursday, the Sabr Prison Court in Lahj Governorate began the trial of those accused of killing businessman Sheikh Mohsen Al-Rashidi and three members of his family.
The first session of the trial of those accused of killing the businessman Sheikh Mohsen Al-Rashidi and his son Ali Mohsen Saleh Al-Rashidi, Mohsen Ali Abdullah Al-Rashidi, and Arif Qasim Al-Ashwal began in the October 14 market in the Labous - Yafa District.
At the hands of the defendants (Ali Saleh Muhammad Al-Silani, Yasser Ali Saleh Muhammad, Abbad Ali Saleh Muhammad, and the fourth defendant, Muhammad Saeed Abdul-Qawi Al-Muflhi, who is detained in a Sana’a prison pending this case).
The session was moderated by Judge Nazmi Suhaim Abdel Karim, who ordered the representative of the Public Prosecution, Abdel-Ilah Saleh Mashour, to read the indictment. He also listened to the defendants’ responses, handed them a copy of the case file, and gave them the opportunity to go to next week’s session to appoint a lawyer to respond to the lawsuit submitted by the Public Prosecution.
The court decided to postpone the session until next Thursday, May 23, 2024
The courtroom was attended by the public prosecutor, accompanied by lawyers, and a large number of citizens who crowded the courtroom, and large crowds of citizens gathered outside the walls of the court, holding up pictures of the victims of that crime, chanting slogans of retribution, a popular demand, and the application of the law and the law of God, in the presence of a large number of people. From tribal and social figures, and the media, this issue is one of the issues that preoccupied public opinion about Yafea due to the ugliness of her crime.
The details of the incident of the killing of Sheikh Al-Rashidi and three members of his family date back to June 2022, after they were exposed to an armed ambush in the October 14 market in the Laabous area.
