The Standards and Metrology Authority rejects spoiled imported chicken and destroys other products that violate commercial fraud in Aden

The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, through its office in the free zone port in the temporary capital, Aden, rejected 2,898 cartons of imported frozen chicken, brand (Hilal), of Brazilian origin, in violation of the specifications due to the low degree of cooling, which led to the product bleeding and melting and the growth of harmful bacteria in it.
The Authority also rejected and destroyed 8,640 empty biscuit packets because there were two production dates on the packet, and it rejected and destroyed a quantity of plastic water taps that violated the fact that the product was marked with the country of origin being Turkey and was originally a Chinese product, as well as a quantity of stickers with the logo of the Gulf Standardization Organization and the logo of the Saudi Organization. Prepared for local packaging, which constitutes fraud and deception to the consumer.
In the same context, the Authority rejected and destroyed a quantity of cardamom pods, bay leaves, peanuts, ragsha beans, tamarind, crystal white sugar, and cinnamon, as they were exposed to moisture, which led to the product rotting.
It rejected and destroyed 80 spring scales and 120 electronic scales that were in violation of specifications, as spring scales are prohibited from being used in commercial transactions according to standard specifications. The type of imported electronic scales is of poor quality and does not give a correct reading. It also rejected and destroyed strawberry gum because the artificial colors used in it violated specifications, and a walnut-flavored cake. India violates the standard specifications regarding the expiration period, and rejected a quantity of baby formulas due to their violation of the Council of Ministers’ decision to ban their import and encourage breastfeeding.
The destruction was carried out at the free zone dump, with the participation of free zone customs and relevant authorities.
43 cartons of shoes damaged as a result of exposure to marine damage were rejected.
