A football player was kidnapped because of a WhatsApp message

The Houthi militia kidnapped a football player in the "Al-Salam Club" in Khamer District, in Amran Governorate, following messages he sent in a group via the "WhatsApp" application, mocking the incident of the Iranian president's helicopter that crashed last week.
Sources said that the Houthi militia kidnapped Captain Maher Abdul Razzaq Hanash, yesterday morning, Friday, from his home in the city of Khamar, the center of the district, according to what was reported by “Al-Masdar Online”.
She also added that the kidnapping took place under the direction of the Houthi supervisor, Mansour Al-Hamzi, who was appointed by the militia as security director for the Khamer district, and who ordered the player to be imprisoned after he posted messages on the WhatsApp application, mocking the incident of the Iranian president’s plane crash.
The player had posted circulating messages about the incident, which was the subject of sarcastic discussion among social media bloggers in Yemen.
According to the sources, the Houthi leader Al-Hamzi stipulated for the player’s release a guarantee and a written pledge in which he commits not to publish or criticize in any means of social media.
It is noteworthy that Iranian President Ebrahim Raisi, 63 years old, was killed last Sunday, along with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and seven other people, when the American-made Bell 412 helicopter they were traveling in crashed in a mountainous area in the East Azerbaijan Province, northwest of the country, during Their return from the inauguration ceremony of a dam on the border with Azerbaijan.
