Marib.. Destruction of 4 tons of smuggled, damaged and expired medicines

The Supreme Authority for Medicines, Ma’rib Governorate Branch, announced today, Monday, the destruction of 4 tons of smuggled, damaged and expired medicines.
The Authority also destroyed 400 kilos of medicines that were withdrawn from pharmacies and drug stores in the city of Ma’rib and a number of district capitals, including 50 types of medicines.
Director of the branch of the Supreme Pharmaceutical Authority in Ma’rib Governorate, Dr. Adel Al-Qarda’i, praised the role of the security services and security personnel who contributed to seizing quantities of smuggled and counterfeit medicines at various points and entrances to the governorate.
He explained that during the past weeks, the Authority carried out an inspection campaign for damaged and expired medicines based on the tasks assigned to it to regulate and monitor the pharmaceutical market in Ma’rib in cooperation with the Ma’rib City Directorate.
