The Houthis take a strange measure towards a Yemeni teacher

Yemeni activist Noura Al-Jarwi published a picture of a Yemeni teacher and described her as a “virtuous teacher,” noting that her only accusation was her refusal to attend lectures organized by the Houthis and her criticism of their policies.
Al-Jarwi explained in a post on her page on the “X” platform that the teacher was summoned for investigation in February 2019 and since then she has been in prison and has not seen the sun.
Al-Jarwi mentioned that the teacher’s family received several promises from the Houthis to release her, but those promises have not been implemented yet.
Al-Jarwi reported that the Houthis took five million Yemeni riyals from her family in exchange for her release, yet she was not released.
Al-Jarwi asked: “Who will save the women of Yemen from the prisons and oppression of the Houthis?”, stressing the difficult situation that women are experiencing in Yemen under the control of the Houthis and the ongoing violations of their rights.
This case reflects one of many cases in which Yemeni women suffer from arbitrary arrests and ongoing repression.
