The Houthis claim responsibility for shooting down an American drone in Marib

The armed Houthi group announced that it shot down an American “MQ_9” plane at dawn today, Wednesday, in the airspace of Ma’rib Governorate (northeastern of the country)
The military spokesman for the Houthis, Brigadier General Yahya Saree, said: “At dawn this Wednesday, an American MQ_9 aircraft was shot down while carrying out hostile missions in the airspace of Ma’rib Governorate.”
He added that the targeting operation was carried out with a locally made surface-to-air missile, and footage of the shooting will be distributed.”
This comes just days after another plane of the same type was shot down in the airspace of Al-Bayda Governorate, which is the sixth plane of this type that was shot down, according to the Houthi military spokesman.
Earlier, Yemeni military sources reported that a large drone believed to be American was shot down in the Al-Alam area, in the desert between the Ma’rib and Al-Jawf governorates, in areas under the control of Yemeni army forces, without knowing the reason for its downing.
