A Saudi-American agreement to support the health sector in Yemen with about $9.5 million

The World Health Organization and the Saudi King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center signed an agreement to support the health system in Yemen worth $9.5 million.
This came according to a statement published by the account of the international organization’s office in Yemen on Thursday, via the X platform.
The statement stated that “The World Health Organization signed an important agreement with the King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center (governmental) worth $9.5 million to support vital health projects in Yemen.”
Under the agreement, the funded projects will target 12.6 million people in various governorates of Yemen.
According to the statement, “The focus will be on supporting access to safe drinking water, preventing the spread of infectious diseases, and enhancing the health system’s ability to respond to disease outbreaks.”
The organization expected that “these efforts will lead to reducing disease rates, reducing the number of deaths, and enhancing the resilience of the health infrastructure in Yemen.”
