340 people were killed under torture in Houthi prisons, and hundreds were sentenced to death

The internationally recognized Yemeni government said that hundreds of detainees in the prisons of the Houthi group were sentenced to death, and that 340 of the detainees died under torture.
The spokesman for the government team negotiating regarding the file of prisoners and detainees - the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Human Rights in the recognized government - indicated In it, Majed Fadayel, pointed out that the death sentences recently issued by the Houthi group against 45 detainees in its prisons, in the capital, Sana’a, represent a dangerous escalation and continuation of the violations and crimes committed by the group, in a message to the interior and abroad that the group is continuing its repressive policy.
He stressed The group politicizes the judiciary and uses it as a tool of intimidation, seeking to get rid of opponents who pose a threat to it, whether politicians, activists, or ordinary citizens.
He explained that these rulings are considered a crime against humanity and a flagrant violation of international humanitarian law and international human rights law, as they “ It is illegal and has no legal basis, and is often used as a means to settle political scores and get rid of opponents.”
