The Minister of Defense chairs a meeting of the Armed Forces Command and confirms the institution’s support for the Central Bank’s actions

Today, the Minister of Defense, Lieutenant General Mohsen Al-Daari, chaired a meeting of the leadership of the armed forces in the interim capital, Aden, and via video communication technology in Marib, to discuss developments in the military situation in light of the Houthi terrorist militia’s mobilizations and the escalation of its hostilities on more than one front.
The meeting, in the presence of Deputy Chief of the General Staff, Major General Ahmed Al-Basr, affirmed support for the courageous measures taken by the Central Bank of Yemen in Aden to protect the banking sector and save the national currency from the tampering and blackmail of the terrorist Houthi militias and their continued destruction of the national economy.
The leadership of the military institution announced its readiness to provide all aspects of the required support to the Central Bank based on the support and blessing of the Presidential Command Council for the measures taken to move forward in protecting the banking sector from the abuses and violations of the terrorist Houthi militias, and to end the monetary distortions and tampering with the national currency.
The meeting also reviewed a number of performance reports for the bodies and departments of the Ministry of Defense, and the achievements achieved in the first half of the 2024 training year, strengthening them in the second half, and working to overcome various difficulties, challenges and obstacles and advance the armed forces at various levels.
The Minister of Defense stressed that the Armed Forces, with their various military formations, comply with the directives of the leadership of the Ministry of Defense and the Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces, and work in complete coordination and harmony through the Joint Operations Authority... stressing the need to raise combat readiness and enhance cooperation and integration between the various formations in order to achieve the ultimate goal. Which is to restore the state and defeat the Iranian-backed Houthi terrorist militia.
The meeting was attended by heads of agencies and their deputies, directors of Ministry of Defense departments, the Joint Operations Authority team, and a number of relevant military leaders.
