Urgent directives to Yemenia Airlines to transfer its revenues to its accounts in Aden and abroad

The Ministry of Transport of the internationally recognized Yemeni government issued urgent and decisive directives to Yemen Airways, stipulating that all of the company’s revenues be transferred to its bank accounts in the capital, Aden, or to its bank accounts abroad, as of the beginning of June 2024, to distance it from the control of the Houthi militias. So that the company can spend on operating the company and developing and modernizing its fleet, especially after the robbery of its balances in Sanaa banks, which exceed 100 million dollars.
The Ministry’s directives referred to previous correspondence in this regard, whether by the Ministry’s leadership or by the government, based on the decision of the Presidency of the Republic to transfer all ministries and government institutions to the capital, Aden, and to the decisions of the Central Bank in the capital, Aden, which stopped transactions with banks.
The transfer directives also included the transfer of the remaining departments in Sanaa to the company's main center in the capital, Aden, as a matter of urgency.
