An official source reassures citizens about the government’s provision of fuel for power stations

A government official source in the power stations fuel tender committee explained that the government and its executive agencies have secured and provided fuel for the power stations and paid its value to the supplying company, denying any rumors or allegations about the government’s failure to pay the value of the last diesel shipment. The clarification came as follows:< /p>
We are starting to reassure our people in Aden, basically, that the diesel ship loaded with 59,919 metric tons entered the berth in the oil port in Buraiqa yesterday, June 4, 2024, and unloaded 3,000 tons. Then the pumping stopped in the evening due to problems between the merchant Al-Awadi and the company that owns the shipment. It was resolved and the ship resumed. Pumping yesterday afternoon, Wednesday, and it is still completely unloading the shipment until now.
The slander and allegations contained in that registration are absolutely baseless, as:
The entire value of the first shipment, amounting to 33,000 tons, was paid in full at the time by the government, and the government also paid 50% of the value of the second shipment, 60,000 tons. tons before the ship entered the oil port, and the rest of the second 50% value was also increased by the Ministry of Finance yesterday, June 4, 2024, before the shipment was unloaded.
The Power Plant Fuel Purchase Tender Committee hopes that it has clarified the truth. In this regard, we call on everyone to investigate credibility and accuracy and not to be drawn into rumors that aim to undermine the corrective measures taken by the government and reduce their importance for the purpose of returning to the previous situation in which they were carried out. Purchasing this material for about $1,200 per ton, while the current purchase price is only $711 per ton, taking advantage of people’s suffering in this stifling heat and as a result of the shipment’s arrival being delayed for a few days for reasons beyond the control of both the supplier and the government.
