Masam announces the destruction of 659 mines, explosive devices and shells in Bab al-Mandab

The “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines reported, Thursday, June 6, 2024, that its team was able to destroy 659 mines, explosive devices, and unexploded shells in the Bab al-Mandab area, planted by the Houthi militia.
According to Masam Project, the destruction and explosion operation carried out by “Special Tasks Team 2” included “6 anti-tank mines, 9 anti-personnel mines, 23 shells, 4 explosive devices, 429 assorted bullets, and 188 assorted fuses.”
Special Tasks Team 2 documented the work of Team 28 Masam in the Al-Harikiyah area, Dhu Bab District, at the site of an anti-tank mine explosion on a citizen’s bus.
The “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines had issued its monthly report, and monitored the total that was cleared during the month of May 2024, which amounted to 5,726 mines, unexploded shells, and explosive devices.
The total that has been removed since the launch of the “Masam” project at the end of June 2018 until now has reached 444,858 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices, planted by the Houthi militia in various Yemeni governorates, and the total cleared area has reached 56,881,560 square meters.
