A military source in Taiz says that the Houthi militia’s announcement of opening major roads is a propaganda act

A military source in Taiz confirmed that the Houthi militia’s announcement of the opening of main roads in the city is merely a propaganda act.
The Deputy Head of the Moral Guidance Division in the Taiz axis, Colonel Abdul Basit Al-Bahr, said that the crossings are still closed and booby-trapped with anti-personnel, anti-vehicle, and sniper mines.
He explained in a post on his Facebook page that the militia had raised one barricade out of 15 on its side, all of which were still filled with anti-personnel and anti-vehicle mines, stressing that all roads on their side were completely open without restriction or condition.
Sources in the Road Opening Committee in Taiz Governorate confirmed that the Houthis’ talk about a move to open roads took place individually, and without coordination, welcoming any efforts to open roads and end the militia’s siege of the city.
The sources said that there is a meeting of the local authority and the road opening committee, which will be held today to discuss the file and clarify its position on the Houthi movement.
He pointed out that "the line that the Houthi militia announced work to open is planted with mines and explosive devices, and that if it wants to show good intentions, it must work to clear and remove the mines."
The sources called on the Houthi militia to completely lift the siege to ensure the opening of main roads, the removal of mines, the lifting of collection points, allowing the entry of goods, aid and medicines, and stopping arbitrary arrests.
This comes after the Houthi militia announced that it will work to open two roads to the city of Taiz, starting today, and begin lifting the barriers.
She said that the two roads included the Al-Hawban - Al-Qasr - Al-Kamb road, which is designated for passengers and light means of transportation, while the second road, “The Sixty-Fifty - City of Light - Bir Pasha,” is designated for heavy and medium transport trucks.
