The Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies in the interim capital, Aden, destroyed quantities of smuggled medicines today, in cooperation with the Token Aden Security Forces

The medications seized by the forces of the Coal of Aden contain 24 cartons of Pregaline, equivalent to 37,150 strips, which are among the locally monitored medications used as nerve medications and psychotropic substances, as well as 38 cartons of Rintadine injections, amounting to 20,900 ampoules, which is a drug whose use the World Health Organization has approved banning in the year 2021.

This destruction comes in line with the regulations and laws in force in the country, which criminalize trafficking in medicines and medical supplies outside legal frameworks and exposes people’s lives to danger due to the lack of knowledge of the drug content and improper transportation methods. The destruction also comes as a result of joint cooperation and coordination between the Authority and the various security sectors. To limit the spread of the phenomenon of drug smuggling and block its outlets in order to protect the lives of citizens.

The destruction was attended by representatives of the Supreme Authority for Medicines and Medical Supplies, the Ring of Aden Forces, representatives of research and security, and representatives of environmental health.
