The destroyed medications contained 24 cartons of Pregaline, equivalent to 37,150 strips, which are among the locally controlled medications used as nerve medications and psychotropic substances, as well as 38 cartons of Rintadine injections, amounting to 20,900 ampoules, which is a drug whose use the World Health Organization has approved banning in the year 2021.< /p>
The process of destroying the medicines took place, after taking all necessary security and legal measures in line with the regulations and laws in force in the country, which criminalize trafficking in medicines and medical supplies outside legal frameworks and expose people’s lives to danger due to the lack of knowledge of the drug content and improper transportation methods.
The Commander of the Ring Belt, Brigadier General Naji Al-Yahri, stressed the need to make more efforts and constant vigilance at the ports of the capital, Aden, to prevent and stop the passage of these smuggled medicines that pose a threat to the health and safety of citizens.
