“Masam” removes (1,254) mines in Yemen within a week

The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines during the first week of June 2024 was able to remove 1,254 mines in various regions of Yemen, including one anti-personnel mine, 18 anti-tank mines, and 1,232 Unexploded ordnance and 3 explosive devices.
The “Masam” team was able to remove 4 anti-tank mines and 859 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate, one anti-personnel mine and two unexploded ordnances in Qatba District in Al-Dhalea Governorate, and one anti-personnel mine, 13 anti-tank mines, and 13 unexploded ordnance. Exploded in Hays District, Hodeidah Governorate.
In Lahj Governorate, the team was able to remove 9 unexploded ordnance in Al-Mudaraba District, and 110 unexploded ordnance in Al-Waht District, and in Ma’rib Governorate, the team was able to remove one anti-tank mine, 199 unexploded ordnance, and one innovative explosive device in Raghwan District.
In Taiz Governorate, the team removed two anti-tank mines in Al-Mandab District, 6 unexploded ordnances in Al-Mukha District, 24 unexploded ordnances in Hays District, 7 unexploded ordnances in Sabr District, and one anti-tank mine and 12 unexploded ordnances. In Dhubab District.
It is noteworthy that the number of mines removed since the beginning of the “Masam” project until now has reached 446,112 mines that were planted randomly in various Yemeni territories to claim more innocent victims from children, women and the elderly.
