Masam announces the removal of nearly six thousand mines and explosive devices in various governorates during the past month

Masam Project to clear mines from Yemeni territory announced that its field teams were able to clear nearly six thousand mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices during the past month from various governorates of the Republic.
Masam’s operations statement stated that the total area that the project teams cleared from various regions of Yemen during the month of May amounted to 904,813 square meters.
For his part, the supervisor of the Masam teams in Taiz Governorate, Engineer Arif Al-Qahtani, confirmed that the 22nd team of Masam in the governorate was able during the past months to extract and secure 9 anti-tank mines, 34 anti-personnel mines, 6 explosive devices, 51 unexploded shells, 793 Fuse and unexploded bullet.
Osama Al-Gosaibi, Director General of Masam Project, previously announced that field teams have removed more than 443,452 mines, unexploded ordnance, and explosive devices since the start of the project and last May.
The engineering teams of the Masam Project have so far been able to clear 56,881,560 square meters of Yemeni land that was booby-trapped with mines, ammunition, and explosive devices.
