The Governor of Hadramaut and the Minister of Oil review the work progress of the PetroMasila Company and ways to enhance the valley’s electricity

The Governor of Hadhramout, Mr. Mabkhout Mubarak bin Madi, and the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Sulaiman Al-Shammasi, were briefed today on the progress of work at the Al-Masila Petroleum Exploration and Production Company (PetroMasila), which operates in the field of oil and gas exploration and production in Hadhramout Governorate.
The Governor of Hadhramaut and the Minister of Oil met with the company’s leadership, and during the meeting, Governor Bin Madi praised the role played by PetroMasila in supporting the national economy and enhancing the energy infrastructure in Hadhramaut.
The Governor of Hadhramaut and the Minister of Oil and Minerals discussed with the management of the PetroMasila Company ways to enhance the valley’s electricity capacity by increasing production from the Wadi Hadhramaut gas power station, to reduce the hours of power outages for citizens and to improve the generation service for Wadi Hadhramaut’s electricity.
Governor Bin Madi stressed the keenness of the local authority in Hadramaut to provide all the necessary facilities to the company, which contributes to its continuing to perform its vital role in supporting development in the governorate.
For his part, the Minister of Oil and Minerals, Dr. Saeed Al-Shammasi, affirmed the Ministry of Oil and Minerals’ support for the efforts of PetroMasila Company, indicating that the Ministry is working to enhance investments in the oil and gas sector in Yemen, which contributes to improving the national economy.
Dr. Al-Shammasi discussed with the company’s management a number of issues related to work in the oil sector in Hadramaut, and ways to address them and enhance the company’s capabilities.
The Undersecretary of Hadramaut Governorate for Valley and Desert Affairs, Mr. Amer Saeed Al-Amiri, provided an explanation of the electricity situation in the valley and the suffering of citizens during the summer, which requires urgent interventions to improve the service and alleviate the burden on citizens.
The meeting was attended by the Undersecretary of the Governorate for Technical Affairs, Engineer Amin Barzeq, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Oil and Minerals for Financial and Administrative Affairs, Talal Saleh bin Haidara, the directors of the Coast and Valley Oil Company, Engineers Abdul Rahman Belfas and Jaber bin Jabha, the Director of the General Electricity Corporation in the Valley and Desert, Dr. Khaled Bahraish, and the Deputy Director. Executive General of the Business Support and Development Unit, Engineer Mohammed Abdullah bin Nabhan, Deputy Executive Director for Technical Affairs at the company, Engineer Sahl Omar bin Sahl, Senior Director of Operations for Sectors 10 and 53, Engineer Abdullah Rajab Al-Zubaidi, and Commander of Corporate Protection, Brigadier General Ahmed Omar Al-Maari.
