The Standards and Metrology Authority rejects and destroys products intended for children and others in violation of the port of Aden and Taiz

The Yemeni Authority for Standardization, Metrology and Quality Control, through its office in the free zone port in the temporary capital, Aden, rejected 540 bags of white sugar that were in violation of the product’s spoilage as a result of exposure to moisture, and rejected a quantity of baby bottles that violated the specifications due to the lack of health certificates for the product proving the product’s health suitability and non-viability. The product prevents the migration and migration of any dangerous and harmful substances into the liquid inside the bottle, and health certificates are considered a mandatory requirement for baby bottles.
The authority also rejected and destroyed 1,108 cartons of jelly candy because they contained artificial sweeteners, as the standard specifications prohibit baby food from containing any artificial sweeteners, as they interfere with the structure of the child’s body organs during the developmental stage, causing serious diseases. The destruction process took place in the area’s dump. Free with the participation of the region's customs and relevant authorities.
Through its branch in Taiz Governorate, the Authority seized and destroyed 105 cartons of hot sauce that violated the specifications due to the change in the properties of the product in terms of taste and smell. The destruction was carried out with the participation of the relevant authorities.
