Informed media sources reported that the management of the Al-Ghad Al-Mashreq channel network intends to close its radio and television broadcasts at the end of the year 2023 AD
The same sources report that the channel’s management informed a number of preparers, editors, broadcasters and program presenters about the end of their employment contracts with the channel, as well as Al-Ghad Al-Mashreq Radio, without informing them of any reasons or even promising them to arrange their situations and pay their financial dues.
This sudden decision was a great shock to the channel’s employees and left them disappointed with the way the channel’s management dealt with them. It also raised many question marks among media circles about the fate of the employees, the reasons for the closure decision and its repercussions, and whether the reasons were financial or political.< /p>
Observers believe that the closure decision comes within the UAE's new political orientations, and a first step on the path to its military and political withdrawal from the south, while others see it as a clear Emirati retreat from its previous positions in support of the southern issue.
It is noteworthy that the Al-Ghad Al-Mashreq Network, as a channel and radio station funded by the Emirates, was launched in the year 2016 AD, and its media policy adopts the southern issue, and supports voices calling for the liberation and independence of the south, in addition to its media discourse hostile to the Muslim Brotherhood in Yemen, as well as the Houthis.
