A prominent commander in the Security Belt forces in Babin was injured following the outbreak of armed clashes with wanted persons.

The commander of the Security Belt Forces in the central region, Colonel Muhammad Abdullah Samqa, was injured in an exchange of gunfire with people the Security Belt Forces said were wanted.

Samqa was injured by a bullet to the foot, while two companions were injured in the same clash.

In a related development, a citizen was killed as a result of a clash with a force from the Security Belt in Lawdar following a security raid.

A security source said that a citizen was killed during a security force raid on a house in the center of the city of Lawdar.

There was no sufficient information available about the reasons for this raid.
