Concluding training workshops for 300 workers in customs, the Aden Ports Corporation, and the Coast Guard

Six training workshops on maritime security and combating smuggling were concluded this Thursday morning in the capital, Aden, with the participation of 300 trainees from the Customs Authority, the Aden Ports Corporation, and the Coast Guard Authority.
In the training, which lasted from May 12 to June 27, Ms. Fransen, an expert in the Maritime Security Program of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime, reviewed knowledge and skills about facility security and security basics.
It also reviewed, detecting smuggling, the safety of seals and containers, terrorism, port security, emerging threats in the maritime field, writing basic SOPS instructions, and managing crises and disasters in ports, with the aim of combating smuggling and developing performance in port security.
The Undersecretary of the Customs Authority, Dr. Muhammad Al-Dahni, expressed the Customs Authority’s thanks and appreciation for all the efforts of the Maritime Security Program in qualifying and training customs employees.
Al-Dahni stressed the continuation of cooperation with the program in all areas that improve performance. He also called on the participants to transfer knowledge to their colleagues and their practical reality.
