Yesterday evening, Tuesday, July 2, 2024, four awareness sessions were held within the framework of the USAID project to support peace in Yemen, which is implemented by the “Med” Development Foundation in partnership with the “Ark Group” organization, and with funding from the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). ), in the Broome Mayfa District, led by members of the District’s Community Council, on the effects of climate change on the agricultural sector and best practices for using water efficiently and preventing waste.
During the sessions, the importance of understanding climate impacts was highlighted and how each individual can contribute negatively or positively to developing solutions and mitigating the effects of these climate variables. Effective discussions took place with the community about the societal challenges and conflicts associated with climate change, and ways to reduce them. The community provided constructive opinions and suggestions that enriched the sessions and contributed to developing a set of contributions through which these challenges can be addressed, resources conserved and the environment protected.
The sessions were attended by a number of community groups, including farmers, rural women, and those interested in climate issues.
