Citizen Salem Abdullah Mohsen bin Sayel, a nurse at Ataq General Hospital, was killed by Shabwa Defense Forces soldiers at the entrance to the city of Ataq, this evening, while returning home from work in the hospital.

According to local sources, the victim crossed the defense point at the eastern gate of Ataq on his motorcycle, where soldiers from the point chased him and shot him near Bin Amer station, killing him instantly.

Sources at the defense point claimed that Bin Sayel passed quickly without stopping at the point, which prompted the soldiers to shoot him.

The killing of the nurse sparked widespread anger among the people of Ataq, who demanded that an urgent investigation be opened into the incident and that those involved be held accountable.
