Scandal: An activist marries poor girls for fun and divorces them after a month. Details

The widespread mutaa marriage scandal sparked an uproar in Sanaa after an activist revealed the involvement of another activist named Ghaleb al-Qadi in exploiting poor girls by marrying them for a short period and then divorcing them after they became pregnant by him.
Security expert Ramez Al-Maqtari said that Ghaleb Al-Qadi got married to a girl who did not have a brother, and brought his own photographer. The official announced that the photographer was in the position of her brother, and the marriage contract was concluded using a seat number, while the girl was crying, feeling an approaching disaster. After only one month, the judge divorced her.
Al-Maqtari added: “At the moment of the marriage contract with the new girl, the official would release the previous girl to the judge, and then he contracted the marriage contract with the other, while her mother was filming everything that was happening on her phone without their knowledge.”
He continued: “This girl revealed a series of repeated marriages of Ghaleb Al-Qadi, including a girl from Manakh whom he married and divorced, and who is now pregnant from him.”
Activists called for deterring Ghalib al-Qadi, stressing that he marries for a period of a month and then divorces and marries another woman, noting that the number of affected girls reached dozens, and that his marriage was just for fun.
Activists launched an attack on the judge after it was revealed that he exploited poor girls and subsequently dismissed them, accusing him of temporary marriage. One activist said: “Why do you exploit poor women? This is not permissible. Fear God in yourself!” The judge replied, “I married her and divorced her, and I have proof!” The activists responded: “How do you marry her for a month and get pregnant with a child and leave her?” The judge replied: “What do I have to do with it? I have official papers!”
The activists added: “You are now under the umbrella of temporary marriage in this way! You are using a contract paper and a divorce paper to cover up your despicable crimes. There are dozens of girls who were subjected to what this girl was subjected to at the hands of this legal oppressor.”
They concluded by saying: “This activist caused an unprecedented wave of popular discontent, calling on the Houthi militia authorities to arrest him, refer him to trial, and compensate the affected girls.”
