Urgent.. The round of negotiations for prisoners and abductees in Muscat ends without an agreement

The round of negotiations on the issue of prisoners and abductees, which was held under the auspices of the United Nations and the International Red Cross in the Omani capital, Muscat, concluded today, Saturday.
An official source in the file of prisoners and abductees said that the negotiation round ended without reaching an agreement, noting that the Houthi militia worked with all force to thwart any exchange process during this round.
The source added that the negotiations witnessed many positive breakthroughs, but the Houthi militia thwarted any exchange process, even though the round was held in Muscat at their request.
The source held the Houthi militia fully responsible for the failure in the exchange process, adding that their failure of the process proves their lack of interest in the militia’s prisoners.
He indicated that many files have been postponed to the next negotiating round, which is expected to be held in two months, with an agreement to continue exchanging statements through the envoy’s office during this period.
It is noteworthy that the negotiating round began on June 30 and continued until Saturday. The envoy's office said in a previous statement on Wednesday that the parties had reached an understanding on procedures for releasing detainees in connection with the conflict, including the politician Muhammad Qahtan.
Media and Communications Officer, Mai Al-Sheikh, confirmed that the Office of the UN Envoy to Yemen stresses the importance of completing the negotiations in a spirit of responsibility to achieve tangible results by releasing all detainees in accordance with the “all for all” principle.
