The Coast Guard recovers the body of an Ethiopian off the coast of Shabwa

The Coast Guard Police in Shabwa Governorate recovered the body of an Ethiopian migrant from the sea off Bir Ali in Shabwa Governorate (south-eastern Yemen).
The security media of the Yemeni Ministry of Interior said that the Coast Guard Police in Shabwa received a report from fishermen about the presence of a body floating on the surface of the sea, 3 kilometers from Bir Ali Beach.
He added that the forces moved to the place and recovered the body, which turned out to be that of an Ethiopian immigrant, and that the initial examination of the body did not show any injuries.
She indicated that she deposited the body in the hospital’s morgue, and informed the International Organization for Migration to take inspection and burial procedures.
The incident comes less than a month after a boat carrying 260 African migrants sank off the coast of Rudum in Shabwa, leading to the death of 65 people, according to the Yemeni Ministry of Interior.
In a related context, the Coast Guard Police in Shabwa Governorate said that 109 Ethiopian migrants arrived on the Yemeni coast on a boat that dropped them off at the Al-Majami’ site on the Irqa coast in Radum District.
