The King Salman Humanitarian Aid and Relief Center “Masam” project to clear Yemeni lands of mines during the second week of this October removed 746 mines in various regions of Yemen, including two anti-personnel mines, 113 anti-tank mines, and 631 unexploded ordnance.
The weekly statistics showed that the team recovered 256 unexploded ordnance in Aden Governorate, and one anti-personnel mine in Hajer District in Al-Dhalea Governorate, while in Hodeidah Governorate, it removed 15 unexploded ordnance in Al-Khawkhah District, 3 unexploded ordnance and one anti-tank mine. In Ma’rib Governorate, the team was able to remove 300 unexploded ordnance and 100 anti-tank mines, while in Shabwa Governorate the team removed 3 anti-tank mines in Asilan District, and in Taiz Governorate, the “Masam” team was able to remove 4 anti-tank mines and 13 ammunition.
The statistics showed that the number of mines removed during the month of October rose to 1,476 mines, while the number of mines removed since the beginning of the “Masam” project rose until now to 418 thousand 579 mines that were planted randomly in various Yemeni lands to claim more victims.
