Awareness campaigns about the danger of electronic blackmail in Al-Shehr

Adel Ahmed Baakaba, Director General of Al-Shehr Directorate, discussed during his meeting today, Tuesday, Colonel Khaled Al-Jamahi, Director of Al-Shehr Security, and Musabah Al-Bahsani, Deputy Director of the Head of the Electronic Extortion Department in Al-Mukalla Security, the implementation of awareness programs.
The proposal includes holding courses for the security staff in Al-Shehr and activists on women’s issues, and awareness-raising tours for schools and high schools to educate female citizens about the dangers of electronic blackmail, how to deal with blackmail cases, and providing psychological support to victims.
Baakaba stressed the need to raise awareness of the dangers of electronic blackmail and community awareness of the use of cybersecurity to protect victims’ devices from any intrusions, pointing to the need for continuous coordination between the concerned authorities to combat the phenomenon that is dangerous to women’s security.
The aim of the courses is to train a capable female cadre capable of dealing with electronic blackmail cases professionally, ensuring that society is protected from crime with complete confidentiality and security, and providing the necessary psychological support to blackmail victims.
