Maritime Authority: A ship was hit by unknown projectiles off Aden

The British Maritime Trade Operations Authority and British maritime security company Ambrey said that a ship was hit by unknown projectiles 83 nautical miles southeast of the Yemeni city of Aden early on Friday.
The authority stated in a memorandum that all crew members are fine. The identity of the ship was not determined.
Ambry said in a separate warning that it was a Singapore-flagged container ship.
The company stated that “the ship was heading in the Gulf of Aden towards the northeast when a nearby commercial ship noticed a ‘light and explosion’ in the place of the ship.”
It added that the ship immediately took what appeared to be evasive maneuvers and turned off its automatic identification system after about an hour.
The company determined that the ship falls within the Houthi targets file.
Since November, the Houthis have been launching drone and missile attacks on shipping lanes in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden. The Yemeni group said that its movements come in solidarity with the Palestinians amid the Israeli war on Gaza.
In response, Britain and the United States have launched strikes since February that have shot down drones and bombed offensive sites in Yemen.
