Khor Maksar Health Director: The vaccination campaign in the directorate was well implemented and achieved a high success rate

Dr. Jihad Sultan, Director of the Public Health and Population Office in Khor Maksar District, explained that the second precautionary round of immunization against polio was carried out in the district well and in a smooth and organized manner from house to house without any obstacles. We achieved a completion rate of 105 percent, which is the highest rate among the directorates. The governorate, and the vaccination process was preceded by an awareness campaign carried out by health education teams by going to neighborhoods and residential areas to educate parents about the importance of taking vaccines and distributing brochures and posters for the vaccination campaign.
Dr. Jihad Sultan reported that the number of beneficiaries of vaccination in Khor Maksar District reached 13,489 male and female children under the age of five, while the number of participating workers reached 90 health workers and 12 field supervisors. The number of members of the health education team was 30 participants and one supervisor.
He added: The timing of the campaign came in an inappropriate climate, as it was the wind season and the temperature was high, which exhausted the workers and supervisors.
The director of the Public Health Office in Khor Maksar District appealed to intensify the role of Government and private print and audio media in spreading awareness of the importance of vaccination, as some parents of children refuse to vaccinate their children while carrying out the immunization campaign.
I also extend my thanks to the local authority in the district, the public health and population office in the governorate, the health education center, and the community committees for their cooperation with us in making the immunization campaign a success.
