Activists circulated on social media a video clip of an Arab resident in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia of Yemeni nationality abusing his family, which sparked a reaction.

The Saudi Ministry of Interior re-published a “camouflaged” snapshot from the video clip on its page on the Snapchat platform, confirming that it directly witnessed the incident.

The Saudi Interior Ministry said in its statement: “The Riyadh region police have begun investigating the incident of a resident of Yemeni nationality abusing his brother, his ex-wife, and his daughter, and legal measures are being taken regarding the incident.”

The Saudi Interior confirmed that the incident was dealt with in coordination with the Social Protection Unit of the Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development in Riyadh.
