The Houthi group announces the completion of the repair of submarine cables

The Houthi group announced, on Tuesday, the completion of repair work on the three submarine cables (SEACOM), (AAE-1) and (EIG) in Yemeni waters in the Red Sea, which had suffered a malfunction in late last February. .
The Ministries of Communications, Information Technology, and Transport in the Houthi government said, in a joint statement, that based on the importance of protecting the infrastructure of licensed international marine cables and ensuring their safety, they have provided “the necessary facilities and permits from the General Authority for Maritime Affairs in Sana’a for ships to maintain those cables.” In the region and carrying out repair work in the Yemeni waters of the Red Sea smoothly and with complete success.”
The statement added: “The Yemeni (Houthi) government also seeks to push the completion of the implementation of submarine cable projects in Yemeni waters, out of interest in developing communications services globally.”
The statement reiterated "the importance of implementing cable branches for the Republic of Yemen as a basic and important step in pushing for the implementation of all submarine cable projects and the fact that the Republic of Yemen participates in large investments in these projects."
