Civilians died and were injured, on the evening of Tuesday, October 17, 2023, as a result of a violent explosion in a place where gunpowder was being collected in Amran Governorate, which is under the control of the Houthi militias.

Local sources reported that a violent explosion occurred in Amran at a gunpowder factory, resulting in a number of deaths and injuries and the demolition of a number of nearby homes.

According to the sources, the explosion that occurred due to gunpowder in the Beit Ceylan area, specifically the Aqar area, was strong and shook the area on Tuesday morning.

Activists circulated pictures showing the destruction of at least 20 homes as a result of the explosion that destroyed the place and neighboring homes.
