The Public Authority for Environmental Protection in Hadhramaut Coast held, this morning in the city of Mukalla, a training workshop on green recovery, as part of the activities of the Arab Environment Day, which falls on October 14, 2023 AD, under the slogan (Together for Green Recovery).

The Director General of the Hadhramaut Coast Branch of the Public Authority for Environmental Protection, Mr. Salem Baqhayzel, stressed the importance of the role of the media in protecting the environment in light of the spread of the industrial revolution, the high cost of development, the rise in temperature, and the confinement of agricultural lands.

Director of the Media and Awareness Department at the Authority’s branch, Eng. Najwa Anis, indicated that the goal of the training workshop comes within the framework of the participation of media professionals and journalists in environmental events, the conduct of joint awareness-raising activities, and the harmonious interaction with the media and the Authority to deliver the correct environmental awareness message to society.

The workshop touched on green recovery methods to achieve sustainable development, national commitments, legislation and laws regarding the role assigned to societies, and general discussions about the roles of the media in reducing pollution.

The workshop witnessed various segments and interventions from attendees and media representatives, as well as an awareness-raising presentation about the dangers of environmental pollution and its harms to societies.
