The Southern Transitional Council announces its political position on the peace map sponsored by Oman

The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council said that it held its regular meeting on Thursday, headed by Mr. Ali Abdullah Al-Kathiri, Acting President of the Council, President of the National Assembly, in the presence of the Council’s ministers in the government, and the heads of the auxiliary bodies of the Presidency.
At the beginning of its meeting, the Commission listened to a briefing presented via video call by the Chairman of the Auxiliary Political Commission and Head of the Council’s Negotiations Affairs Unit, Dr. Nasser Al-Khobaji, on the political developments witnessed by the south, Yemen and the region and the position of the Southern Transitional Council regarding them.
In this regard, the Commission reiterated the position of the Southern Transitional Council in support of stopping the war and achieving a comprehensive and lasting peace, stressing the need to complete consultations with all major and effective parties to ensure the achievement of a comprehensive and successful political process.
The Presidency also confirmed that the Southern Transitional Council’s stance in support of peace efforts is based on its concern for the security and stability of the region, and its strategic political and security partnership with the brothers in the Arab coalition countries led by the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the United Arab Emirates, and friends in the region and the world. Pointing out that the Council was and remains keen to prevent any geographical area in Yemen from turning into a threat to itself, the south, the region or international interests.
The Presidency of the Southern Transitional Council called on the Presidential Leadership Council to implement the agreed-upon commitments, at the forefront of which is activating the joint negotiating team, to carry out its tasks directly, in the various political, economic and military negotiation files and issues, stressing also the speedy approval of the framework for the issue of the people of the South in all The stages of the political process sponsored by the United Nations, as stated in the outcomes of the consultations of the Gulf Cooperation Council, warning in the context of the consequences of any attempts to procrastinate and delay these commitments.
At its meeting, the Presidency stressed the need for the government to carry out its tasks and responsibilities, including reactivating the holding of its meetings, and continuing to implement the approved matrix with the aim of addressing citizens’ economic conditions, providing basic services, activating institutions, improving their performance, and raising the level of revenues in them.
