Informed sources revealed the expected date for completing the work of the solar power station and preparing it to enter service and enhance the generation system for electrical energy in the capital, Aden.
The sources suggested that the date of November 30 may be the specified date for announcing the completion of the installation work for the solar panels, as well as the energy drainage and distribution work, which is being worked on intensively through the company implementing the project.
The sources pointed out that choosing November 30 as the date for the entry of the new station, which has a generating capacity of 120 megawatts and provided by the UAE, comes within the framework of the government’s direction to set this date to coincide with the celebration of National Day and the 57th anniversary of the Day of Evacuation from British Colonialism.
It is worth noting that the solar energy station was scheduled to enter service in June, but some technical difficulties and problems hindered its completion on time and led to its delay for about 6 more months, as the entry of solar energy into service is scheduled to contribute to raising the generation to 420 megawatts. This is the first time that total generation will reach this level.
