A frightening increase in drowning deaths among migrants to Yemen

The International Organization for Migration said that 4 Ethiopian migrants are still missing in the sea as a result of the boat sinking incident, off the coast of Dhu Bab District in Taiz Governorate.
The organization explained in a report issued by it that the new drowning incident resulted in the death of 12 migrants and the loss of four others who were on a smuggling boat coming from the coast of Djibouti. Due to strong winds and an engine failure, the boat carrying about 22 passengers capsized and sank.
The report indicated that six people survived the incident, including the Yemeni boat captain and his assistant. While the fate of the remaining individuals remains unknown.
