A government report issued by the Executive Unit for the Management of Displaced Persons’ Camps confirmed that Yemen witnessed more than 500 displaced families within a month.
It said in its displacement tracking report for June 2024, issued today, Friday, that its tracking matrix monitored the displacement of 508 families, representing (2,746 individuals), during the period from 1 to 30 last June.
She added that among the displaced, 339 families, representing (1,851 individuals), were displaced for the first time, while 169 families, representing (895 individuals), were displaced for the second time.
The report indicated that the majority of families in June were displaced from Taiz Governorate (50%) and (14%) from Hodeidah Governorate, while the rest were displaced (7-10%) from Ma’rib, Ibb, Shabwa, Dhamar, Saada and Amran governorates.
p>He indicated that during the same period, 128 families (618 individuals) left their current areas of displacement, while 32 families (128 individuals) returned to their places of origin.
According to the Executive Unit, the total number of displaced people increased from January 1 to June 30, 2024 to 1,769 families representing (9,515 individuals) displaced from 18 different governorates and distributed among 8 governorates.
