The General Electricity Corporation of Aden announced a short while ago that the power stations will stop imminently in the coming hours as a result of the depletion of crude oil and diesel, which will lead to an increase in the hours of power outages.
The corporation explained that the gradual shutdown of the stations has already begun due to the depletion of diesel fuel, with the lack of emergency supplies to maintain continuity of operation until the arrival of the fuel shipment scheduled for next August 20.
The corporation indicated that the company operating the Al-Ra'is station informed it that the station would stop in the coming hours due to the cessation of crude oil supplies from Safer Company for more than five days.
Aden Electricity confirmed that it has made great efforts in the recent period to maintain service stability, despite the great challenges in providing fuel. Despite repeated communications to the competent authorities about the need to intervene urgently and provide fuel, there was no response, which will lead to the cessation of all generating stations that rely on diesel fuel and the Al-Rais station that operates on crude oil.
Under these circumstances, only the Al-Haswa and Al-Mansoura stations will remain in service, in addition to the solar station that operates during the day. Aden Electricity reiterated its appeal to the Presidential Command Council and the Presidency of the Government to intervene immediately to secure fuel and maintain the relative stability of service that the capital, Aden, witnessed in recent days.
