The Coast Guard forces in Hadhramaut Governorate announced a package of precautionary measures, which they have taken to limit the damage of Hurricane “Tang”, whose effects are expected to reach the eastern governorates of the country in the coming days.
The measures included preventing the departure of wooden “ferry” boats to Socotra Island starting this Friday morning, preventing their departure to Somalia starting tomorrow morning, Saturday, and “informing all the ferry associations in the Al-Raydah and Qusayar districts of transporting them to the port of Al-Shihr for the purpose of photographing.”
p>The Coast Guard asked the fish associations in the eastern sector to pull the fishing boats to land starting this Friday evening and to avoid placing them in the valleys.
The Coast Guard also announced that it has raised the level of readiness and preparedness and equipped evacuation and rescue teams to deploy in the eastern sector to carry out assistance operations during the hurricane.
A tropical condition is forming in the Arabian Sea, and it is expected that the strength of the tropical condition will gradually increase during the end of this week and the beginning of next week.
