The Houthis said that they carried out two military operations targeting two commercial ships in the Red Sea and the Gulf of Aden.
The military spokesman for the Houthis, Yahya Saree, said that the first operation targeted the Sonion oil ship belonging to a company that deals with the Israeli occupation, and it is at risk of sinking.
He added that the second operation targeted SW North Wind in the Gulf of Aden, belonging to a company that deals with the Israeli occupation, noting that the two ships were targeted by drones, ballistic missiles and gunboats.
The British Maritime Trade Authority said that it had received a report of five explosions near a ship fifty-seven nautical miles south of Aden, without reporting damage, while it announced that a commercial ship had drifted off the shores of Hodeidah Governorate. After losing control of it after its engine broke down and a fire broke out on board as a result of being targeted by three missiles.
For its part, the European Union's Operation Aspids said that the ship "Sounion" lost control of its engine after it was attacked and drifted in the Red Sea, confirming that the crew was rescued and all its members were transferred to the port of Djibouti
