In a dangerous escalation for the Houthis, the Yemeni Armed Forces announced that the terrorist Houthi militias supported by the Iranian regime, on Friday, targeted the Safer oil facility in Ma’rib Governorate with three suicide drones carrying highly explosive materials in a cowardly terrorist attempt to destroy this vital civilian facility.

The following is the text of the statement issued by the Ministry of Defense and the Chief of General Staff..

"On this day, Friday, August 23, 2024, at exactly three and twenty-six minutes in the morning, the Houthi terrorist organization supported by the Iranian regime targeted the Safer oil facility in Ma'rib Governorate, with three winged suicide drones carrying highly explosive materials in a cowardly terrorist attempt." To destroy this vital civilian facility.

With the help of God Almighty, these planes were shot down before achieving their criminal goals.

Information from the competent authorities in our armed forces shows that these enemy aircraft were launched from a point located between the areas of Al-Dahidha and Qarn Al-Sayari, east of the city of Al-Hazm in Al-Jawf Governorate, which is under enemy control.

The armed forces confirm their readiness to respond to such actions that target the interests of the Yemeni people and their sovereign economic facilities.
