The Acting Ambassador of Russia to Yemen, Dr. Yevgeny Kudrov, held a video meeting today with the Vice-President of the General People's Congress, Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh. The meeting discussed developments in the situation in Yemen and the current situation within the party, in Ahmed Ali’s first official meeting after the lifting of sanctions against him.

During the meeting, Dr. Kudrov extended his sincere congratulations to Ahmed Ali Abdullah Saleh on the occasion of the lifting of international sanctions against him.

He stressed the importance of continuing joint efforts to find a political and peaceful solution to the ongoing conflict in Yemen, stressing Russia’s support for any initiatives that contribute to achieving peace and stability in the country.

Observers believe that the Russian moves with the parties of Yemeni legitimacy came to strengthen relations after assurances that Russia would not arm the terrorist Houthi militia.
