Minister Al-Soqatri heard, in the presence of the Undersecretary for the Fish Production and Marketing Sector, Ghazi Lahmar, the Chairman of the Fisheries Authority in the Arabian Sea, Engineer Yeslam Babilghoum, and the Executive General Director of the General Telecommunications Corporation, Engineer Wael Tarmoum, from the General Manager of “Texat” Company, Engineer Omar, To an explanation of the idea of ​​the ship monitoring project, which includes installing tracking devices operating with the Vessel Monitoring System (VMS) on boats designated for fishing in our country’s regional seas and linking them via satellite to the operations room in the ministry and fisheries authorities, to collect information about them and analyze them by specialists in order to monitor the movement of those fish. Boats, their activity, and their locations determined by satellite.

The Minister of Agriculture and Fisheries indicated that the Ministry is seeking to implement a project to install advanced automated tracking systems for fishing boats and ships in our country... explaining its importance in applying security and safety standards for fishermen and their boats, developing the fishing and fish marketing system with modern automated systems, and developing the maritime control system. .

For his part, the Director of the General Corporation for Telecommunications stressed the interest of the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology in such projects, and is working to provide all facilities of advanced, high-speed Starlink Internet services.
