Journalist Brigadier General Ali Mansour Moqrat, head of the Army newspaper, said: “Today marks the 53rd anniversary of the founding of the army of the southern state at that time, and this is a history that does not accept interpretation. Muqrat continued, saying: The president was Ali Nasser Muhammad, Minister of Defense, and before him, Ali Salem al-Baidh and Muhammad Saleh al-Awlaki. I mean, after the independence of the South... the militants al-Awlaki and al-Bidh faltered in their efforts to lay the foundations for building the army, organizing its formations, introducing weapons and rehabilitation, and after two and a half years of the independence of southern Yemen in November 30, 67 AD, the martyr President Salmin issued a decision appointing Ali Nasser Muhammad as Minister of Defense in addition to his position as Prime Minister, so he set out with his mentality to build the Democratic Yemeni Army.

Noting that President Nasser is the only man of history among the remaining leaders of the South who has a memory. May God grant him good health.
