A “harsh” lesson directed by the Southern Giants forces to the Houthi militias, at the walls and gates of the Yemeni Lahj Governorate, by “blowing up” their dreams of field progress.
The Houthi militia launched a surprise attack on units of the southern forces and penetrated the first towns of Al-Musaimeer District in Lahj Governorate on the borders of Taiz Governorate, which led to the displacement of many families from their homes from the villages of Shawkan, Al-Qurain and Ahamah, towards the liberated areas.
The Houthi militias also forcibly displaced many families from their homes, turned homes into human shields, and built defensive barricades for their members in the middle of residential villages, in the latest war crimes committed by this group.
In response to these crimes, the Giants forces intervened alongside units of the Southern Resistance and succeeded, on Sunday, in expelling the Houthi militias from the villages, mountains and hills on the borders of the two governorates located in southern Yemen.
A development reported by an official local source to Al-Ain News: “The Giants’ forces and units of the Southern Resistance succeeded in defeating the Houthi militias from the town of Shawkan in the Mawiyah District, east of Taiz, which the militias took two days ago as a platform for attacking the Al-Musaimeer District in Lahj.” .
The source explained that “the Giants’ advance came as a harsh lesson for the Houthi militias, as they invaded the town of Ahama in Al-Musaimeer, and planted and deployed mines and explosive devices along the border areas between Lahj and Taiz.”
He pointed out that “the sudden Houthi attack prompted the giants to bring in reinforcements and deter the Houthi incursion into the first towns of Al-Musaimeer. It also succeeded in controlling mountainous heights and hills in Shawkan and several villages, including the village of Al-Adeeb in neighboring Mawiya.”
The confrontations resulted in deaths, injuries, and prisoners on both sides, while the clashes are still at their most intense, according to the same source.
The Lahj confrontations, which are considered a “feeling of the pulse” by the militias, come after a series of attacks that have recently remained active along the fronts of Al-Dhalea, Saada, Hajjah and the Western Coast, in a situation that “returns the situation to square zero,” according to observers.
The militia leader, Abdul-Malik al-Houthi, recently vowed “surprises on land” similar to “the sea,” in a move that observers interpreted as a directive to his field commanders to detonate the war again and escalate hostilities on the internal fronts.
