The Houthi group announced, through a statement issued by military spokesman Yahya Saree, today that its forces shot down an American MQ9 drone while it was flying in the airspace of Saada Governorate.
The group said that this plane was the second to be shot down within 72 hours, and the ninth in months.
The group announced last Saturday that a similar plane had been shot down in Ma'rib Governorate, while there was no official comment from the United States on these developments.
It is noteworthy that the Washington-led coalition has been launching raids on Houthi positions since the beginning of the year, which led to escalation of tensions in the region.
